steadygrow.com respects your privacy and complies with New Zealand privacy law, specifically
the New Zealand Privacy Act 1983.
steadygrow.com is managed by a practising medical doctor and specialist paediatrician Dr. Felicity Breen, who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical practise in dealing with any personal information you choose to provide.
We will not disclose your personal information in any way to others, except to allow access to users that you have specifically authorised to access your information, and to persons directly engaged or employed by us as necessary to maintain this website. We may amend this privacy policy from time to time, by amending this page.
2. Personal information we collect on steadygrow.com public web pages
The only personal information collected about users of steadygrow.com public web pages is the following:
- Session cookies and IP addresses
- Emails from you
- Subscription information
3. Session cookies and IP addresses
steadygrow.com uses session cookies while the user is logged on to accumulate general website usage only. No personal information is stored in the cookie, except a unique number to identify the user for the duration of their session.
When you close your browser, the session cookie set by this website is destroyed. steadygrow.com does not retain any personal information that could identify you on another visit to our website.
We capture and store site visitors' IP addresses solely for purposes of monitoring site traffic.
4. Emails from you
If you choose to contact us by email or by using any form on www.steadygrow.com, we may store your email for either or both the purposes of preparing a reply, or accumulating feedback about the site in order to improve our service. steadygrow.com will normally not reply individually to email questions, comments or other messages, but reserves the right to do so.
5. Subscription information
If you choose to subscribe to www.steadygrow.com, for yourself or for someone else, we will collect the personal contact information requested on our subscription form.
This contact information will be used and stored solely for the purposes of account subscription, payment, maintenance and pre-expiry re-subscription reminders.
6. Personal information we collect on steadygrow.com members-only web pages
Each subscribed member of www.steadygrow.com will in addition have the opportunity to store personal weight related information in their own steadygrow page. (If the subscribed member is a child, this would normally be entered by another 'account operator' who is a parent or carer.)
This information is stored for the purpose of delivering steadygrow.com's service.
Members (or their nominated 'account operator') can easily access their own information and update it when logged in to their own page.
On expiry of a subscription, we will deal with member data as follows:
- Prior to and up to two months after subscription expiry, we will email an advice of subscription expiry to the member (or if the account operator is another person, to this nominated other).
- Members / account operators will be able to renew a subscription online from their own steadygrow page up to the date of expiry.
- Members / account operators who do not renew a subscription by the date of expiry, will be able to renew by contacting the administrator@steadygrow.com.
- Member data will be kept for a period of two years.
- Within two months after expiry, we will endeavour to contact the former member / account operator, to determine whether the member / account operator wishes to be sent their data by email (as an Excel file attachment containing data only).
- Member data will be de-identified two years after subscription expiry.
8. Contribution to medical knowledge and public information
As part of our commitment to growing medical and public knowledge about effective weight and growth management, we may from time to time:
- Collect generalised statistics.
- Offer opportunities to site visitors to participate in research.
In all such cases, information will be gathered, aggregated and presented so that no individual could be identified as being associated with the material.
9. Data storage and security
Your information is held on secure servers in New Zealand. As a steadygrow.com member, you may access your information from Internet connected devices anywhere in the world, on providing the correct combination of user name and password.
steadygrow.com members will ultimately be able to set access permissions to allow access to other parties that they authorise, such as their doctor. In this case, steadygrow.com provides secure information access in accordance with members' permissions, but can take no responsibility for the use or misuse of your information by parties to whom a member has authorised access to their information.
